Signal Bay Launches Cannabis Consultant Marketplace

Signal Bay Inc. [stockquote symbol=SGBY], a leading provider of research and expert consulting services to the legal cannabis industry, recently announced the launch of its Cannabis Consultant Marketplace. The industry-centric managed marketplace enables organizations to find and engage vetted, industry experts for short-term projects and long-term engagements using a modal similar to UpWork, Toptal, or other managed freelance marketplaces.
“We are excited to provide a scalable online platform that enables cannabis companies to post project opportunities and seek competitive proposals from vetted, qualified industry experts,” says Signal Bay’s CEO William Waldrop.
Signal Bay estimates that the demand for expert consulting services in the cannabis industry could exceed $175 million in 2016, as companies seek consulting services in fields ranging from botanical extraction to analytical chemistry. The company’s platform provides an alternative to hiring a select group of consulting firms that currently serve the industry, while lowering operational and start-up costs to improve long-term returns.
The launch of the marketplace comes shortly after the company expanded its cannabis advisory board to include Casey Houlihan, co-founder and executive director of the Oregon Retailers of Cannabis Association and partner in two licensed medical marijuana dispensaries. Mr. Houlihan joined Leslie Bocskor and Gordon Katz on the company’s advisory board designed to help guide its future product launches and strategies within the cannabis industry.
