Cannabix Completes Alpha Version of Cannabis Breathalyzer

Cannabix Technologies Inc. [stockquote symbol=BLOZF] (CSE: BLO), developer of the Cannabix Marijuana Breathalzyer™ for law enforcement and the workplace, recently announced the completion of an alpha version of its technology, which included the fabrication of the firmware, circuit boards, electronics and detection modules in partnership with KLN Klein Product Development Inc. out of Vancouver, Canada.
“We have initiated our internal testing of the Alpha version of the breathalyzer prototype,” said Kal Malhi, President of Cannabix Technologies Inc. in a recent press release. “We are also excited to have commenced discussions with suitable organizations for trial testing.”
Management plans to begin testing the alpha version with medical marijuana users, while working with consultants to enhance the sensitivity, detection, and reliability of the device. Before a beta version is released, the company also anticipates optimizing THC detection levels, weatherproofing the device, adding calibration methods, and making a number of other changes needed before trial testing with external agencies.
In addition to the completion of the Cannabix Marijuana Breathalyzer™, the company announced that the Canadian Supreme Court has approved the spin-off of its Monster Lake South Gold property. Management indicated that it would provide further updates on a record date and closing plans for the arrangement over the coming weeks. The spin-off is designed to help focus resources more squarely on the development of the marijuana breathalyzer.
