Cannabis Industry Could Create Many Jobs

Hundreds of people gathered in Denver for a job fair for those interested in the legal marijuana business in Colorado. O.penVAPE hosted the O.penVAPE Cannabis Job Fair for any adults over 21 years of age with 15 Colorado-based companies present looking to fill a variety of positions. Positions ranged from accounting and customer service to trimmers and street team members designed to promote the locations.
“Our sales increased about 300%; our traffic through the stores increased by the same number,” said Luke Ramirez, co-owner of Walking Raven Wellness Center in an interview with the local CBS station. “So, that’s why we’re here today. We actually need to hire more folks to help with that traffic and that add revenue.”
The legal marijuana industry has been rapidly growing in the state ever since medicinal marijuana dispensaries were legalized in 2000, but growth accelerated even more quickly with the legalization of recreational marijuana on January 1st. More than 160 dispensaries have been licensed to sell marijuana to consumers since then. THC-infused products like chocolates and drinks have been especially popular among consumers.
O.penVAPE, which makes vaporizer pens, and its sister companies Organa Labs and Bakked, which make cannabis oil, could double their number of employees to more than 200 this year, according to a spokesperson’s comments to CNN Money.
These figures could grow even higher over the coming years as more states legalize recreational marijuana and the industry continues to grow in size and volume.
