The cannabis industry underwent radical change throughout 2017, with scientific breakthroughs exposing the plant for its medical potential and cannabis stocks hitting all-time highs (excuse the pun). In fact, the year brought about many milestones, with Denver City Council extending dispensary opening hours, Thornton City Council approving the county’s first recreational cannabis dispensary, Colorado establishing fresh legalx cannabis rules and regulations – the list goes on!

It is this multi-level industry expansion that has led to the development of many new cannabis products. Despite the fact the industry is still, for the most part, illegal, it’s hard to ignore the profitability that comes with being involved in such a blooming industry. Based on information gathered by the Brightfield Group, the international cannabis market will exceed $31 billion by the year 2021. What’s more, legal cannabis markets are forecast to match/exceed black market cannabis by 2020.

So, what can you expect to see in 2018’s new sales channel? The following must-try “green” tools are expected to keep the marijuana movement at the forefront of the retail world this year:

  1. Seedo – This fully-automated home grow unit is a dream come true for the busy “budding” grower. Developed by a company in Israel, Seedo is a compact cannabis-growing tool similar in size to a mini-refrigerator. All the user has to do is select and plant a strain, while the Seedo distributes the correct type and amount of nutrients, lighting and water. When harvest time arrives, the Seedo automatically sends a message direct to the user’s app-installed mobile device. Simple!

  2. SuperCritical IPA – In September of 2017, craft beer company Lagunitas Brewing developed a terpene-infused IPA brew. Crafted with Washington and Yakima-sourced hops, the SuperCritical IPA will be served at an increasing number of locations in 2018. Since cannabis terpenes are responsible for relieving stress, promoting a good night’s sleep, and giving cannabis its unique flavor and scent, you can expect this Hybrid-Sativa blend to taste as potent as it smells.

  3. Medix CBD – Over the years, this company has been shedding a light on the way in which Cannabidiol (CBD) works in the body. In 2018, consumers can shop CBD edibles, topicals, pain creams, oil and hemp oil products from Medix CBD. Examples of the brand’s non-psychoactive products include Citrus Strawberry Edibles Chews and CBD Pain Cream.

  4. Aero Inhaler – Brought to the world by Quest Aerosols, this THC-infused inhaler has made a big impression since it was spotlighted at the Cannabis Business Awards as the “Cannabis Invention of 2017”. A reliable handheld inhaler that delivers pure cannabis distillate, the Aero Inhaler conveniently delivers metered doses of terpene-rich THC.

  5. Sensi Chew – If you suffer from insomnia or want to ease arthritis-related pain without dosing up on painkillers, medicate yourself naturally by chewing on Sensi Products. The Sensi Chew contains a THC-dominant cannabinoid profile. It is a heavenly concoction of chocolate caramel-bound melatonin and THC.

  6. springbig Carefully designed for the cannabis industry, springbig is a point-of-sale type of software targeted towards active members of the cannabis industry. Designed to help business owners attract new customers and retain existing customers, the promotional tool integrates email software with an SMS marketing service to increase revenue. It might have been founded back in 2012, but the company recently collaborated with publicly-traded company, Leafbuyer Technologies, to “level the playing field” for dispensaries.

  7. hempSMART Pain Cream – This year, cannabis consumers can learn more about the “Hemp Movement”, thanks to the Marijuana Company of America’s educational approach to business. The company has developed a health and wellness range, featuring the latest product – hempSMART Pain Cream. Containing 300 mg of full spectrum non-psychoactive Cannabidiol, the personal care application is one of numerous fascinating products featured in an ever-expanding pain management range.

  8. Bliss Pen Brought to the cannabis market by dosist, the Bliss Pen is a disposable preloaded pen containing cannabis oil with a THC:CBD ratio of 9:1. Every hit delivers 2.25mg of cannabis oil to the user. No fillers or additives are contained in the Bliss Pen, which uses superior heating technology and airflow control to blast approximately 200 doses into the user’s lungs.

  9. Korova Edibles Peanut Butter Cookies – Oakland’s largest edibles manufacturer Korova Edibles has been hard at work over the festive season reformulating their cookies to ensure they meet retail market standards. A total of 10 peanut butter-flavored cookies are concealed inside the air-tight bags, each of which provides medical cannabis users with 10mg of THC. Alternative flavors include Vanilla Bean, Ginger Chew and Mint Dip.

  10. Foria Pleasure – Female sexual pleasure is about to hit an an all-time high, thanks to this all-natural aphrodisiac spray. Created for women of all ages and walks of life, Foria Pleasure contains natural ingredients like lab-tested cannabis oil and coconut oil. Combined, these ingredients are deeply healing and have analgesic effects. GQ hailed this plant-based therapeutic aphrodisiac “Sex Product of the Year”.
