Cannabis Science (CBIS) Expands Clinical Study into Additional Indications

Cannabis Science Inc. [stockquote symbol=CBIS], a U.S. company specializing in the development of cannabis-based medicines, recently announced that more than 100 individuals have expressed interest in participating in its initial round of clinical trials for its new inhalation study for asthma/COPD and other respiratory disease patients. Due to the high demand, the company is expanding on a state-by-state basis to target severe pain and sleep disorders.
“We are so grateful to have so many willing self-medicating patients to help us in these trials of our new products,” said CEO Raymond C. Dabney. “We already have labels made and are ready to move forward with commercializing our new medications, and looking forward to successful clinical trials so we can move to the next level. While there is a great deal of research backing using cannabis in pain treatments, respiratory system treatments, as a sleep aid, we are putting our products through serious studies to improve upon them before a wider spread release.”
The company has already signed up 25 legal, self-medicating patients in California for its initial asthma/COPD inhalation medicine study. Sufferers of aching muscles and joints, headaches, and menstrual cramps are being actively recruited to test its new “Natural Body & Soul Healing Balm”. In addition, those with coughs, colds, and the flu are being recruited to test its new “Relief Tonic” that aims to bolster the body’s immune system. And, those with sleep disorders are being recruited to test its “Solace Drops” as a natural sleep aid.
The company is proceeding with the research and development of these products, as well as CS-S/BCC-1, CS-TATI-1, and CS-NEURO-1 in its drug portfolio. These products are targeting skin cancers, HIV/AIDS, and neurological conditions.
